The Giro d’Italia bike race is a sensation each year in Italy, with locals flocking to the roadsides all over Italy to catch a fleeting glimpse of the cycling superstars as they whiz past. On Sunday, May 26th, the teams travel from Ivrea near Turin to Como in what is this year’s longest stage. Palazzo del Vice Re – in its tranquil lakeside locale far from the frenetic fans in Como, but close enough to get in on the action – is offering a special weekend stay for cycling fans that gives guests the chance to experience their own private “giro” along with all the excitement of this legendary race.
